This 3-acre site in the heart of Nakusp is being re-envisioned . A key industrial hub since 1954, the shops still house experts and artisans. Revisioned in 2020, working towards rezoning and subdivision in 2021, we will develop new single-family housing surrounding the shops, to create attainable home ownership.
In May 2021 Columbia Mills undertook the environmental remediation and Phase Two testing to confirm that the industrial works over the years have not adversely impacted the soils or groundwater. This is a critical step in the redevelopment of this site.
With the support of the Village of Nakusp, Columbia Mills is undertaking to rezone the site from a mix of M-1 Light Industrial and R-2 Suburban Residential to R-1 Urban Residential to align with the new Official Community Plan and create a vibrant neighbourhood in the heart of Nakusp.
During the approval and development processes, over the next year, Columbia Mills has a quarter-acre of vacant land useable for community purposes. Open to Ideas: Community Gardens, Outdoor Classes, Recreation. Please contact you if you have a suitable use in mind.
